The song as we now know as “Bye Caroline” was mostly recorded during the “Greasy Deep Pocket” sessions in 2009. The song did not make the cut for the album do to difficulty with vocal and melody development and it was shelved. 99% of the instrumentation that you will hear today was a result of the GDP sessions at Sonic Lounge with engineer Joe Viers. The songs music was tight as hell and the guitar solo will rip your face off.
Fast forward to 2016, seven years after the initial recording session. I contacted Joe at Sonic Lounge and asked that he send me the mixed track, and with a new direction in mind I recruited sound engineer and friend Tim Lewis for the project of finishing the track and releasing as a single. Tim turned out to be the perfect choice for co-producing and engineering the resurrection and transformation of the track. Not only was he great at what he does, he was a fan of the bands work and had attended many shows. Tim was also very accessible for impromptu sessions. After a half dozen short sessions we had what we envisioned and it was powerful. Song was then sent to Brian Lucey at Magic Garden Mastering.
